How can I create a replica of John Snow’s cholera map using ArcGIS?
At the bottom of the blog post, there is a link to download the shapefile data for the Snow data. Unzip the file, and then use the Add Data tool in ArcGIS to add it to your map. You can use the same tool to select Add Basemap, and then choose from the available base maps. -Don
Could I use it for my coursework?
My task is to locate appropriate datasets (which should, as far as possible be free and openly available to use) and create a replica of the map, produced entirely using ArcGIS. The purpose here is to develop workflows and approaches to recreating the various effects I identify on the original map in GIS environment.
As far as I’m concerned, you are welcome to use the data. However, you may want to check with the originators of the data mentioned in the article.
